No Community Without Purpose.

YATOM is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting foster and adoptive families—and the children who need them most—through a uniquely Jewish lens. Rooted in tradition and driven by compassion, we help ensure that no child is left without care, stability, and a sense of belonging.

We believe that fostering and adoption are powerful expressions of chesed (loving-kindness), and that every Jewish community has a role to play in supporting vulnerable children.

There are more than 368,000 children in the U.S. foster care system today—and not enough families prepared or supported to care for them. In Jewish tradition, we are called to protect the orphan, uplift the vulnerable, and respond to suffering with action. At YATOM, we answer that call by helping families open their homes—and by helping communities open their hearts.
